What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
Dreams & Goals are a lot of times not accomplished because of 1 of 2 things. 1 we’ve given up on dreaming and don’t have a vision to set goals for, or 2 we fail to take action and follow through on the day to day actions you need to take to realize our dreams. Both things need to be in place in order for us to accomplish great things. Big Vision plus daily action = winning results. Here’s a plan to accomplish our goals this year:
First before I get into goal getting, I want to touch on visioncasting! The worse thing to do is to jump into setting goals and ending up somewhere you don’t want to be. So before anything else, let take some time to DREAM BIG. Don’t be shy. Be realistic, but be AUDACIOUS! Craft a big vision for yourself then break it down into small attainable goals that you want to accomplish THIS YEAR! & THIS QUARTER!!
Now that you have a clear vision of what you want, let’s take a little time each day to go and get it!!
Here are the details on How I do this:
#1) Go after it!
Reflect: on what worked & didn’t work in the past, Decide: on a plan & strategy based on the data, Commit: to doing the plan for at least 90 days.
#2) Stay Focused!
Commit! Write it down! & TAKE ACTION. Use a high-level down to a day-to-day system that keeps your goals in front of you & tracks your progress & results on a day to day and week to week basis.
Here is a prototype of my goal getting “Focus journal” for entrepreneurs who want to get the right stuff done every day!
But no need for anything fancy you can START NOW, with good ole paper and pencil. Just use a plain journal or notebook that is dedicated to your “goal getting” journey.
Here how the system works. Our objective is to go from BIG to small. From Big Ideas, down to “day to day” next action steps. and here’s how we do that:
- First, you write your 3yr vision, then your 1-year big hairy goal (the one goal that if accomplished would make all your others goals inevitable or unnecessary
- Once you have your big hairy goal, Then you’ll identify the top 3 repeatable actionable steps you can take every day to see your big hairy goal accomplished. These are your Daily KPI’s (key progress indicator)goals.
- These along with your daily routines together make up you DAILY ACTION PLAN!!!!
- Commit to your plan every day. Then make a habit to take 5mins to review your progress at the end of the week. Score yourself, make notes, adjust and refine, rinse and repeat.
BAM!! you are on your way to seeing your goals accomplished!

Finally and I think most importantly!
#3) Get around a community
Or just a few supportive people that can help you stay focused & accountable to what “you say” you want to accomplish THIS YEAR. The data is in. Social accountability works wonders. Don’t set off to accomplish your goals alone. Connect with people and accomplish your goals together. It’s like that saying…”If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far, go together!”
